OHS NEWS BULLETIN! 2011 FEATURED EXHIBIT
The Omena Historical Society is excited to announce the extension of its "Historical Resorts
of Omena" exhibit through the 2011 season. The response in 2010 was very positive with visitors numbering slightly over 400 and hailing from 22 different states! The work that went into our "Resorts" exhibit was significant enough to warrant its extension for another year.
The exhibit displays artifacts and memorabilia from Omena's nine beautiful resorts that attracted people here from all over the world. In addition to new photographs in 2011 there will be many other items of historical interest!
Your museum committee has decided on the theme for the 2011, front room exhibit! It will be "The Schools of Omena". Because we have so many retired educators in Omena and the village has a such colorful past with schools, we have decided to feature our schools and also recognize all those that have taught and live in Omena today. We hope you will enjoy the turn of the century replica classroom that will be set up by opening day on June 1, 2011. See you there
